About FestivalFinder.eu

FestivalFinder.eu is an online search tool for audiences to discover all arts festivals, from music to theatre, streets arts to dance, literature, etc. in 45 countries in Europe near and far. It guides international audiences, festival lovers, festival makers, artists, travellers, academics, journalists, bloggers, policy makers, city developers and all stakeholders through the world of Europe’s diverse cultural space. It is rooted in and steered by the festivals’ community with the support of the European Union.

All arts festivals are invited to register and join the ambition to be the most up-to-date, insightful, and complete searchable database world-wide that brings the arts to the attention of audiences, ever growing, never ending.

FestivalFinder.eu (a)Live Now

FestivalFinder.eu (a)Live Now is a new project building on FestivalFinder.eu. Starting in October 2020 for a period of 2 years, it is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

FestivalFinder.eu and its 2300 registered festivals are embarking on a new partnership with the European Festivals Association, City of Bergen, Italiafestival, publiq, Summa Artium and EURACTIV Media Network. FestivalFinder.eu (a)Live Now brings together cities, tourism boards, media partners and academia under a shared objective: to bring local content on arts and arts festivals from various perspectives to the attention of audiences worldwide. Various toolkits will be created for the attention of these different stakeholders.

Europe for Festivals Festivals for Europe (EFFE)

Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe – EFFE is an action initiated by the European Festivals Association (EFA), supported by the European Commission and Parliament. EFFE brings the arts to the attention of festival audiences through a searchable database, FestivalFinder.eu, that serves all sorts of interactions and initiatives recognizing the work of Europe’s diverse arts festivals landscape. Europe is in constant development and change. EFFE’s strength is in its diversity; its offer to have a discussion about the possibilities to give the arts more space within our societies.

EFFE Label

Arts Festivals in the FestivalFinder.eu are invited to engage in a deeper process of interaction and contribution to the festivals’ community through the EFFE Label. The EFFE Label is Europe’s quality stamp for remarkable arts festivals attributed for their work in the field of the arts, community involvement and international openness.

EFFE Awards

The EFFE Awards are a selection of practices and ambitions within the arts festivals’ community by the EFFE International Jury.

The EFFE Awards are given every two years. The last edition took place on 26 September 2019 in BOZAR – Centre for Fine Arts Brussels. Have a look at the Awarded festivals from 2015, 2017 and 2019.

The European Festivals Association’s mission is to unite and represent its member festivals across Europe and the world by contributing to the artistic life of Europe. It acts as the most important platform for arts festivals. By supporting and enabling artistic creation, production and participation, EFA and its members ensure that the right to access culture is made a reality for all citizens. Interaction between festivals, with public authorities and the other stakeholders in the arts are central to EFA's work.
