DokuFest 23rd edition
DOKUFEST – Annual International Documentary & Short Film Festival –
Maintaining our regional importance, and aiming to increase its reputation and influence on the international stage, we aim to develop and promote Kosovo’s young filmmakers and artists, as well as enhancing public understanding and appreciation of the art form and its significance, while making films more accessible to a wider audience. The Festival is the platform to address and raise awareness on the most pressing issues, locally and internationally. The Festival, apart from the rich film programme, offers unparalleled space for expression for young artists through Music, Artistic Interventions and Performances, as well as inspirational and knowledge sharing features through Masterclasses, Workshops and Panel Discussions.
DokuFest, since its establishment has proven that consistency and dedication, supported by strong volunteer base, can make a difference and act as an agent for social change, despite the unique context and specific obstacles faced in Kosovo. In addition to organising the film festival, DokuFest has embarked on more structured and consolidated operations through designing and running annual projects that focus on active citizenship, education, transparency, accountability, intercultural dialogue and inter-ethnic relations.
Dokufest has set its sights on the future, unveiling its strategic direction for the Festival programme from 2024 to 2028. The festival aims to solidify its position as a prominent documentary and short film festival while simultaneously fostering talent development, international collaborations, sustainability, and audience engagement. With a focus on diversity, human rights, and social justice, Dokufest seeks to further strengthen itself as a regional and national platform for cultural exchange and dialogue.
