Guimarães noc noc

Guimarães noc noc is not a contest.

There is no jury. No selection of works. Participation is free and open to national and international artists.

Guimarães noc noc” brings together all the artists / projects / art spaces listed in an itinerary that is confined to the city center of Guimarães. This itinerary can be done by foot due to the geographical proximity of the exhibition spaces. The itinerary is available on a map with a free distribution.

Guimarães noc noc provides all spaces/artists registered for this event, a dedicated signage, which will be available throughout the duration of the festival, at the entrance of the spaces in order to facilitate identification and access by the public.

Guimarães noc noc is an event created, produced and organized by Ó da Casa! Cultural Association, an organization that aims to promote artists and disseminate art.

The nineth edition of Guimaraes noc noc takes place on the 5th and 7th of October 2019, in the city of Guimarães, in informal spaces, and includes multiple artistic disciplines – Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Video, Performance, Installation, Music, Writing, etc.

Guimarães noc noc creates alternative exhibitions where the public can attend art exhibitions in non-institutional venues, such as private houses, studios, squares and associations, offering the public a direct contact with the art and the artist. This format implies deep involvement and sharing of responsibilities amongst the artists, the audience and the community, engaging all in the city. This involvement and sharing with the community is part of the process, and ensures the success and continuity of the project.

Guimarães noc noc joins artists/projects and spaces, in an art route limited to the centre of the city of Guimarães, whithin the a geographical proximity that allows a pedestrian access to the exhibition spaces.

Map

To the route is associated a Map pinpointing all the spaces/artists/projects participating in the event. Every year, Guimarães noc noc creates unique signs that hang in front of the doors of the spaces that receive artists/projects, so the public can identify the pinpoints on the Map.

Signage

The signage is created by artists/projects invited by Guimarães noc noc. Every year are invited different artists/projects.
