In 2019 Heltai Gáspár Library Foundation together with Szarkaláb Folk-Dance Group presents the 21th International Folklore Festival of Minorities “Szent István” (Saint Stephen).
Yearly is a honor to us that 25-30 folk-dance groups from 10-12 countries contribute with their traditional music, dance, costumes and enrich this meeting mostly of ethnic and minority groups.
In 20 years we had on our festival 125 folk-dance groups with cca 7.000 dancers and musicians from 20 countries from all over of the word.
We believe that a peaceful coexistence between nations is possible just with knowing the culture and traditions of the other. This is why is very important to organize such international festival, to know each other's culture and traditions better.
We organize our festival in 12 cities and villages from Transilvania, Romania, so we are the biggest folklore festival of our region.
