International Women´s Theatre Festival
The International Women's Theatre Festival (IF*TF) has a feminist and collective claim and is organised by women of the independent theatre ensemble antagon theatreAKTion and supporters of protagon e.V. as well as friends of the festival. What the festival itself is, develops along the way and is at the same time the result of this process. The aim is to bring artistic works by women to the stage in a framework of solidarity and thus increase their visibility in the performing arts. The project is taking place for the eighth time in a row within the framework of collective structures and collective responsibility. It is thus committed to a lasting artistic change in the dynamics of power relations. Bárbara Luci Carvalho is the artistic director. She is a member of The Magdalena Project, an international network of women in contemporary theatre. The festival represents this project in Germany and is growing in international visibility every year.
