Les Musicales de Colmar

05 May 2019 - 12 May 2019
Colmar, France

Created in 1952, the association "Les Musicales de Colmar" organizes each year a festival of chamber music. We invite international soloists and young talents for a week of concerts in beautiful heritage places of the city. The musical direction of the festival is ensured since 2004 by Marc Coppey, cellist and cello teacher at the National Music School in Paris.

The 2019 edition will be held from May 5th to May 12th with over 20 musicians, a chamber orchestra from Neuss (Deutsche Kammerakademie), a chor and 3 quartet (from Budapest and Paris). We will play classical and contemporary music, but also jazz, tango and gypsy music.

To support the musical creation, the festival orders every year a music piece to an actual composer. In 2019, a quartet of Eric Montalbetti will be played by the "Les Dissonances Quartet" on May 9th.

The creation of the imagery in 2018 and 2019 is made by Serge Bloch, a french illustrator who was born in Colmar.

To open the festival to young people, we offer 50 free tickets for each concert to the people under 18, and discounted rates to the 18-25 years old and students.
