Living Environments

Contemporary creation, New art forms, Unexpected locations:

The 3rd edition of the Little Islands Festival under the theme "Living Environments" returns to the island of Sikinos between the 20th and 23rd of August, transforming its maze-like landscape into an ideal setting for open-air screenings, exhibitions and installations.

Documentaries, fresh short films, contemporary video art films and award-winning animations are screened in prominent sites of the "Castle" settlement, that capture their own vision of the social and natural environment and initiate a fruitful public dialogue complemented by open talks with the filmmakers.

Audiovisual performances and installations, live 3D mapping and VR, interact with the architectural specificity of the Aegean landscape and offer a creative wandering experience that transmits notions, visions and experiences.

Within the theme "Living Environments", the LIF programme also includes interactive workshops for children in collaboration with the Cinemathisis educational programme and alternative guided tours of Sikinos' cultural heritage.

All activities are free to the public.
