Misty Fest

This year was the 9th edition of Misty Fest between 31^st October and 25^th November, a festival that does not hide its unique profile. In 2018, the Misty - which was extended from Lisbon to Porto, Coimbra, Loulé, Braga and Ponta Delgada, thus fulfilling a decentralizing design that is part of its identity from the beginning - maintains the posture of bringing the best music to the best Portuguese venues.

Scott Matthew, Avishai Cohen, Anna Von Hausswollf, Andrea Motis, PianOrquestra and Danças Ocultas were some of the artist performing. An ambitious line up that looks for, in the present and in the history, some of the most challenging musical proposals.

Australia, Israel, Sweden, Spain, Brazil and Portugal were the countries represented this year and this in a reflection of our perception about other musical geographies, finding there artistic arguments and histories very different from those that the most main stream circuits of music provide us.

Challenging music, made of great words and original sounds, of artists who come from the four corners of the world. And they like traditions - jazz and rock, popular music, classical heritage, folk - but they also do not fear the subversion of norms. In past editions, Misty has sold out rooms with such inescapable names as John Grant or Peter Hook, Andrew Bird or Rodrigo Leão, Cowboy Junkies or Jorge Palma, Dead Combo or Buika and Lura, names that have always marked the careful programming of a festival that does not want to be like others, but who wants, more and more, to be equal to himself.

In rooms where acoustic quality is a reality, equipped with sound and light systems of high performance operated by the best national technicians, Misty has presented proposals that attend to the comfort of our audiences. In 2018 this commitment was reinforced with a high quality line up. Great music, top performers, unprecedented concerts, comfortable rooms. That's the Misty Fest.
