Osten Biennial Skopje 2024

OSTEN Biennial Skopje is a contemporary art event organized in even years that receives around 1000 works by more than 500 artists from over 66 countries worldwide per edition, highly attractive to artists worldwide because of its unique concept.

We pay considerable attention to new trends and young emerging artists, however, we also award Grand Prix for Life Achievement to those who already best owe their creativity on paper. We are aware that time is of importance and the future is now, hence we pay tribute to those conceiving the collective cultural heritage by granting the World Cultural Heritage Award.

OSTEN BIENNIAL (organized by OSTEN Skopje, North Macedonia) is an event open to everything that is new and is much more comprehensive than the traditional one, giving priority to works that break the old and worn-out art matrices, works that have a specific artist's mark or hint at an attempt for stepping outside the established academic rules, into the free space of creation. The Biennial challenges artists to push conventional boundaries, both in terms of the use of techniques, tools, and media and in terms of creative freedom of expression.
