Summer Season of Bulgarian Opera Theaters - Stage of the ages

The ancient Bulgarian capital of Veliko Tarnovo hosts an Open Air Festival of Bulgarian Opera Theatres "Stage of the ages". In 1985 an opera was performed for the first time amid the ruined medieval palace on Tsarevets hill. The production, “Ivaylo” by Goleminov, was followed in 1987 by “Tsar Kaloyan” by Vladigerov.So began this unique festival of opera, held annually since 2008 and attracting visitors from all around the world.
