BPF 2024: The World A Wave

Our international photography festival was founded in 2020 with the aim of celebrating the power & diversity of contemporary photography, especially its ability to reach and engage audiences beyond the visual arts. In addition, the festival aimed to consolidate Bristol’s emerging reputation as the leading city beyond London for photography, while drawing together multiple organisations to work in partnership.

Bristol Photo Festival exists to bring together communities, exploring underrepresented issues through contemporary photography. Our work is locally grounded, co-created with those we serve, and internationally-focused, fostering dialogue and exchange.

Our programme includes long-term engagement projects, workshops, exhibitions in museums and galleries and much more.
