58th Festival de La Chaise-Dieu

21 Aug 2024 - 31 Aug 2024
La Chaise-Dieu, France

Dear festival-goers,

In the times we live in, music, more than ever, appears to us as it has never ceased to be to mankind: a space of total freedom, the means of transcending our own condition to lose ourselves in an endless inner journey, at once comforting and demanding, intimate and universal. To make room for beauty, to fight for it to resonate ever more strongly, is the mission of the La Chaise-Dieu Festival, and that's the meaning of the 33 concerts and 39 free-access suggestions we'll be offering you over the course of these 11 days of festivities, marked by some landmark highlights. The continuation of Beethoven's complete symphonies, of course, the continuation of Génération Chaise-Dieu, a programme launched in 2023 to which you've all been very supportive, the introduction of opera in the Abbey Church of Saint-Robert, and the celebration of the centenary of the death of Gabriel Fauré, will all help to make this year's Festival one to remember.

True to its identity, the 33 concerts at the La Chaise-Dieu Festival will cover every genre, style and era, from Beethoven to Monteverdi, Bach to Lacôte, jazz to opera and choral music. Whatever you fancy, La Chaise-Dieu is the place to be.
