Campania Teatro Festival
The Campania Teatro Festival is an international theatre festival that from 2008 takes place every year in Naples during June and July. The festival, this year in its sixteenth edition, is directed by Ruggero Cappuccio, who has chosen to draw an artistic project in the sign of multidisciplinarity. On stage many companies from great international productions and innovative local theatre groups perform, enhancing at the same time contemporary dramaturgy, music, dance, cinema, literature, and art exhibitions.
The Festival is held at indoor theatres and outdoor venues in order to foster a synergy between live performances and the valorisation of the landscape and the archaeological heritage of the Campania region. In the last few years, shows and performances have been hosted at the Museum and Royal Park of Capodimonte, at Villa Pignatelli, at the Pausilypon Archaeological Site, the Museum of Pietrarsa, at Castel Sant’Elmo, and at Palazzo Reale.
With the aim of standing as an organisation of social and cultural growth on the international level, the Campania Teatro Festival encourages the participation of the audience through an inclusive policy of ticket prices and free admission reserved to several visitors.
