Carlow Arts Festival
Carlow Arts Festival is an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival which takes place in Carlow and is the first of the summer arts festivals in Ireland.
Carlow Art Festival's mission is to promote culture in all its forms. To foster and promote the growth of the arts including the visual arts, literature, music, dance, architecture and entertainment (including street performance) to advance education in the arts.
The organisation undertakes several key activities to deliver its mission. Its primary artistic focus is on the delivery of a 3-6-day multidisciplinary arts festival which takes place in Carlow each year.
In addition to this the organisation also has two ancillary strands of its artistic programme which is delivered on a year-round basis. ASSEMBLY, an arts community engagement, participation and learning programme and ORIGIN an artist support and development programme.
Both of these two new strands of our artistic programme inform, reinforce, diversify and strengthen our annual festival programme by ensuring that it is current, responsive and relevant to the needs of the artists, communities and audiences that we seek to engage and support.
