DLR#10 "Roots in Motion"

As dancing birds create beautiful dynamic formations and invite others to meet them, so we, through beauty, movement, flow and finally art, (invite) each one to meet and to re-propose our place, not only as a tourist oasis but as a place of inspiration, creation, expression, a place with history, past, present and above all future. In July 2023, the island of Rhodes experienced an incalculable destruction of its natural environment. The birds were saved from the burnt forest. We became these birds: we see through their eyes, experience their freedom, empathise with their concerns. We rise from the ashes, we become a symbol of reconstruction, the search for new worlds and with our voice and movement we address a call to people of all ages, from every place. A call for exchange, communication, evolution. The International Dance Festival in Rhodes and the Dodecanese is an event. Dancers from all over Greece and Europe, renowned dance groups, complete productions and award-winning works harmonise in this year's artistic programme of DLR. A Festival in the heart of the city, an event that brings us face to face with our dream, a stage higher and higher every year. With vision, composure and commitment we flood the island with dance, movement, passion and art.
