ESTAM World Music Festival
Estam is a world music festival, founded in Kragujevac in 2018 by the Student Cultural Center - SKC Kragujevac, which has existed for almost 40 years and is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. As part of its regular music program, our institution has nurtured, among other things, music of this genre for many years.
The artistic council of the festival tries to offer a quality and artistic program through careful selection, and we believe that Estam has fulfilled its mission and vision by hosting in a short time some of the most important representatives of the world music genre, not only in the region but also in Europe (Sona Jobarteh, Elina Duni, Fatima Spar Quintet, Boris Kovač, Damir Imamovic, Bojan Pavlovic, Marko Markovic, Nenad Vasilic, Sudeshna Batacharja, Naked band Belgrade, Tapan, Svetlana Spajic, Ana Carla Maza, Boi Akih, Ismail Lumanovski, Oliver Josifovski...).
The audience of the festival, which is not so common, consists of a lot of young people who have given us their trust because we have been building the audience for years.
The importance that Estam has for this part of Serbia is also confirmed by the support of the City of Kragujevac, which for the last two years has allocated part of the funds and made other resources available for the organization of the festival. Also, for the second year in a row, Estam is part of the European project MOST Bridge for Balkan music, which connects festivals and enables the exchange of experiences, practices and the circulation of musicians from the Balkans and Europe.
Like the other programs of the Student Cultural Center, this segment of the program is constantly being improved in terms of production and organization, so in 2021 the Estam podcast was launched, the author of which is a member of the festival council, Vladimir Đorđević, who has many years of experience as an organiser of numerous programs, a radio host and the author of numerous shows. great connoisseur of the world music genre.
