FIAP "UBUNTU" 2022 :

Bordeaux Bastide - Bègles - Bordeaux Caudéran

The International African Performance Festival, FIAP, will take place :

Sept. 22, 2022 in Bordeaux Bastide: Pont Chaban Delmas => Parc Pinçon, Sept. 23, 2022 in Bègles: ChapitÔ & Maison des Lacs, Sept. 24, 2022 in Bordeaux Caudéran: Mairie de Quartier => Centre d'Animation Monséjour.

The MALOBA Company is an artistic-socio-cultural structure of the Bordeaux Metropolis initiated by Christian BENA TOKO, its artistic director. The project of the International African Festival of Performances, F.I.A.P takes place in September, since 2021.

We will launch the edition FIAP No. 1 UBUNTU Sept. 9, 2022 at the Township House, with music with Afrocubano Projecto. An opportunity for Cheikh Tijaan Sow, the sponsor of the edition N°0, to pass the torch to the sponsor of the edition N°1, Dieynaba Sar.

FIAP wants to be an event in the collective consciousness of the cultural landscape of New Aquitaine for Africans of its Diaspora, the Caribbean, Afro-descendants and those who are on the African continent. With for vocations to be :

- a festive time that gives the taste to some and others to reoccupy the public square,

- a time of valorisation of multidisciplinary contemporary African artistic performances,

- a time of opening to the territory through exchanges and sharing in our public spaces,

- a time of highlighting talents and their unpublished contemporary knowledge.

We are currently on the articulation of the next edition F.I.A.P N°1 "UBUNTU" (together). What is "UBUNTU" spirit ?

The word "UBUNTU", which comes from the Bantu languages of Central, East and Southern Africa, refers to a notion close to the concepts of humanity and brotherhood. In South Africa, this term has been used, notably by Nobel Peace Prize winners Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. "Someone who is UBUNTU is open and available to others" because he or she is aware of "belonging to something bigger". 3 days where we will be UBUNTU: respect, helpfulness, sharing, community, generosity, trust, selflessness.
