What does Northern Europe have to say about music?

In Northern Europe, we find a wealth of music inspired by traditional melodies, the emergence of national cultural identities, folklore and the Nordic imaginary with its fairy tales, a pagan imaginary but also music in its sacred dimension (all Lutheran), not forgetting the music of today, very active, like that of Arvo Pärt.

The festival will also pay tribute to Kaia Sarriaho, who died in 2023.

One thing's for sure: a festival like Cordes is not just about the music, it's about the whole experience.
