Every year since 1948, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence creates new lyrical and musical productions presented in Aix in July, which are revived on tours through Europe. It also carries a training and professional integration mission for young artists through its Académie. Besides, the Festival leads a cultural and artistic education policy which aims at enlarging its audience. 75,526 spectators took part in the Festival in 2016, among which thousands of young people.
