Festival Internacional de Piano do Oeste

For almost 3 decades, the International Piano Week (SIPO) and its Music Festival have been part of the Portuguese musical-cultural panorama. Initially conceived as piano master classes for Portuguese students who do not have the means to travel abroad to attend courses by great masters of the world of piano, over the years, they have grown into an internationally renowned pedagogic event. The Music Festival gradually emerged from the initial participation of renowned concert pianists invited to be part of the master class faculty into an international festival with national and international musicians invited as guest artists. The Festival includes classical and contemporary music with orchestras, soloists, chamber music ensembles, choirs, young talents and winners of music competitions, jazz and a lot of piano and keyboard performances. It is officially recognised as part of the EFFE family (Europe for Festivals Festivals for Europe).

Since its launch and until today, "SIPO" has been a landmark in the Portuguese music scene at regional, national and international level.
