Granada ImproFest 2024: Copenhagen edition

Granada ImproFest "GIF", recognised with the EFFE label, is an improvised arts festival celebrated in Copenhagen, alternating editions between Granada(SP) as a rotational festival. GIF takes place in the form of a 3-day festival (26th-28th August) inviting mainly musicians from the jazz/improvised Danish and Spanish music scene. With an interdisciplinary nature, GIF aims to create a platform where artists from different art scenes can exchange their ideas, creative processes and methods - and ultimately create unique performances together that will be presented at the festival. Moreover, through public workshops, jam sessions and open discussions, GIF goal is to spread improvised performance art to a wider public, believing that it has the ability to evoke creativity, spontaneity and curiosity, but also patience, the love for details and openness.

As the promoter and curator of the festival, the multidisciplinary artist,improviser and pianist Beatriz Gijón aims to establish a lasting bridge between these two scenes and facilitate cooperation between artists.
