The 14th Istanbul Biennial, titled SALTWATER: A Theory of Thought Forms, is drafted by curator and writer Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev. Since its first edition in 1987, the Istanbul Biennial has presented cutting edge artistic practices while foregrounding meaningful research into the arts, their relation with society and culture at large. In particular this edition of the Istanbul Biennial will position arts and sciences in a dynamic and productive relation.
