For the 5th year in a row, Dzintari Concert Hall will host the most spectacular music event – “Jurmala Festival”. An unusual event will open the festival – “Sunrise concert” at Dzintari Beach at 4.00 am, while the world famous Latvian organist Iveta Apkalna will perform organ music at the beach while the sun rises. We will meet many excellent world-renowned Latvian musicians at the opening concert “Born in Latvia” – Intars Busulis, Iveta Apkalne, Vestards Šimkus and Aleksandr Antonenko, who will be joined by young talents and the unique Latvia’s Centenary Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ainārs Rubiķis. Young talents such as Latvian violinist Kristīne Balanas and piano wonder-child from the UK George Harliono will shine on stage at the “Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concert and Mendelson’s Violin Concert”. The great pianists of the Osokin family and “Sinfonietta Rīga” will surprise all piano music lovers with a new programme, while stars from London will traditionally delight musical lovers with their programme “Golden Selection of Broadway Musicals”. For the first time ever, “Jurmala Festival” will feature the concert production from “Cavalleria rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni, performed by the world-famous opera singer Aleksandr Antonenko in the lead role, and the spectacular closing concert of the Festival will feature the most beautiful arias from Italian operas, performed by world-renowned stars – Egils Siliņš, Deniz Uzun, Aleksandr Antonenko and Alise Zinovjeva. But that’s not all! Every day of the festival, starting from 23.00 at the “X.O Beach Lounge & Club” at Dzintari Beach, “Jurmala Festival” AfterParty concerts will take place. They will feature artists such as Daumants Kalniņš, Kristīne Prauliņa, Dināra Rudāne, Aija Vītoliņa, “Framest” and “Beach Band”.
