The Lahti Symphony Orchestra, widely appreciated internationally for its Sibelius interpretations both on disc and on concert tours, organizes its annual Sibelius Festival in September at the Sibelius Hall, praised for its acoustics. The idea of the festival is to offer Sibelius enthusiasts from all over the world an event of wide-ranging programmes of the composer's music. Right from the start (2000) the festival has attracted international audiences, and also international press coverage.
