Mudri Brk festival (Wise Moustache festival)

Mudri Brk Festival will be held from July 22 to 30, 2023, in the Summer Cinema in Jelsa on the island of Hvar. It is an indie music festival organized by the record company Mudri Brk and the Association for the Promotion of Culture "Jelsa."

It's a music festival that presents Croatian authors and performers who create extremely high-quality music in a range of genres, from jazz, and world music to indie music, rock, reggae, pop music, and electronic music, and who have musical successes in Croatia and abroad, but which are not so well known to the general public. The idea of ​​the festival is to present a kind musical selection of excellent music and make a kind of musical departure from the standard tourist offer on the coast and islands in the peak of the summer season on the island of Hvar with the support of the local community in the form of the city and the tourist board.

The festival will be held for a week. In addition to the final two days, where concerts will be held in the evening, the festival will also have additional contents that will contribute to the interdisciplinary nature of the festival:

1. Film music evenings - in the summer cinema, films with a musical theme will be publicly shown, followed by panel discussions and/or music selection by festival DJs

2. Literary evenings - two literary evenings will be held where writers who write books about music or who use musical themes in their literary works will be presented, followed by a musical selection by one of them

3. Ecological workshops and activities - cleaning the underwater beaches, the beaches themselves, ecological seminars for children on waste sorting, knowledge of materials in nature, creation of environmental and natural products for consumption or care, familiarization with the zero waste concept of life

4. Exhibition of music-themed photographs

5. Music workshops for children - DJing and journalism workshops (in cooperation with primary and secondary schools on the island of Hvar)

The festival is also environmentally friendly. The idea of ​​the festival is to reduce the amount of garbage and pollution to a minimum and to promote the possibility of recycling.
