MUSIKTHEATERTAGE WIEN
MUSIKTHEATERTAGE WIEN (MTTW) spans several independent venues, including theatres, site-specific locations and public spaces in the city, giving the programme a contemporary overall aesthetic. The dramaturgy of the 2024 festival edition is geared towards diversity and expands the classical formal language canon of music theatre to include unconventional formats in atypical locations and technical innovations. The festival commissions and creates new projects and compositions and promotes national and international artists. It also utilises the latest technologies such as augmented reality and immersive media to dissolve the visual boundaries between the real and the fictional. MTTW is an international festival for new music theatre and offers a platform for dialogue and exchange between up-and-coming artists and event organisers.
