Olomouc Baroque Festival XI.

07 Jul 2023 - 09 Sep 2023
Olomouc, Czechia

From 2020, the Olomouc Baroque Festival is based on 5 types of productions:

- staged

- symphonic

- spiritual

- chamber

- talent

Also since that year, it has been using different spaces as part of his dramaturgy. For each performance, the space is selected on an individual basis programme, which will subsequently be heard in it. The festival often takes the visitor to places whose qualities they may not even know about.

On the one hand, the festival aims to convey to the contemporary audience opera works that are related to the location of the festival. On the one hand, it was not performed in Olomouc in a historically informed interpretation. The renewed premiere will feature the works of K.Ditters: Red Riding Hood, A. Neumann: Der Landphilosoph, and in a historically informed interpretation the reform opera Orpheus and Eurydice, CH.
W. Gluck.

The festival aims to highlight the high level of composers working in the services of the Olomouc archbishopric and to present music in historically informed interpretation. That is why the festival tries to invite important domestic and foreign ensembles that interpret these aspects they fulfil - this year the festival will feature, for example, Musica figuralis, Societas Incognitorum, Solamente Naturali (SK), Arte dei Suonatori (PL), Il cuore barocco (SK), Musica Aeterna (HU) and also top soloists: Marie Fajtová, Magdalena Kožená, conductors Jakub Kydlíček and Marek Cermak.

The festival also tries to focus on significant Olomouc events/landmarks - Missa in honorem Sanctae Paulinae and Concert for Glory Column of the Holy Trinity.

The fifth area that the festival focuses on, called Talentum, is the presentation of young artistic talents. For acting in this series a call for students from all over Europe will be announced. The call will contain requirements for artistic performances in accordance with the dramaturgy festival.
