Stornarella International Music Festival' is the brainchild of pianist Pasquale Stafano and bandoneonist Gianni Iorio.
The festival is held in the municipality of Stornarella in the province of Foggia, a small town with just over 5,000 inhabitants whose origins date back to 1774 when, to make the plain productive, King Ferdinand IV of Bourbon founded the villages of Carapelle, Ordona, Orta Nova, Stornara and Stornarella with 500 farm families that took the name Cinque Siti Reali
