Szczawno-Zdrój Baroque Festival

22 Apr 2021 - 28 Apr 2021
Szczawno-Zdrój, Poland

This year 2021, Szczawno-Zdrój celebrates the 800th anniversary of its foundation. To mark this occasion, at the end of April, in the Henryk Wieniawski Zdrój Theatre, the first edition of a new international “Szczawno-Zdrój Baroque Festival” will take place, showcasing the performances of early compositional works.

As a part of the festival, we will hear seven concertos: 3 harpsichord recitals, 3 chamber concertos; and the event will be rounded off with an oratorio concerto. The music of the 17th and 18th centuries will be performed from places such as the Kingdom of Spain and the Kingdom of Naples, the Netherlands and Germany; and from the court of King Louis XIV of France (the Sun King). 53 musicians from 9 countries will perform, including world-famous stars such as Olga Pasiecznik (soprano), Peter Kooij (bass) or Artemandoline Baroque Ensemble.
