VII Teatro Bastardo

Teatro Bastardo is an interdisciplinary theatre and performance festival for adults and young spectators in Palermo, Italy.

Born as a performance offshoot of Sicilia Queer FilmFest and having evolved into an independent festival over the years, the festival is now in its 7th edition. With a new artistic directorship for 2022-2024, the festival aims to offer adults, children and teenagers an ever more radical, engaged and engaging programme which concentrates on off-circuit shows and discourses, keeping together the hyperlocal and the global across different sites in the city centre and in its outskirts.

The latest edition invited the artists Tony Rizzi and the Bad Habits, Elisabetta Consonni, Corps Citoyen, Sara Firrarello, Nicoletta Epifani, La Casa di Creta, Bottega Cartura, and Mario Barnaba. Beyond performances, the festival also programmes workshops, roundtables, seminars and other activities in collaboration with other artists and associations active in the Sicilian capital and beyond.
